New Delhi:In a powerful celebration of India’s rich classical music legacy, sarod maestros Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash — sons of the legendary Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan — performed today for Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the prestigious Wave Summit, alongside Ayaan’s 12-year-old twin sons, Zohaan and Abeer Ali Bangash.
Presented as Ekla Cholo Re: A Sarod Recital, the performance beautifully showcased the musical lineage of the Bangash family, now in its seventh generation. Amaan and Ayaan, globally renowned for their work at venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, have collaborated with artists including Derek Trucks and Sharon Isbin, and are Associate Artists at Wigmore Hall in London.
Zohaan and Abeer, the newest torchbearers of the family tradition, began performing at the age of 10 and made their international debuts at Symphony Space in New York and Wigmore Hall in the UK in 2024.
Their performance at the Wave Summit was a true intergenerational celebration of India’s timeless classical heritage — a legacy carried forward with deep reverence, innovation, and global resonance.
