Tragic Fire Near Charminar Claims Multiple Lives
Hyderabad, May 18, 2025 — A devastating fire broke out early Sunday morning in a three-storey building at Gulzar Houz, near the historic Charminar monument in Hyderabad, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.
The blaze erupted around 6:00 AM at the Srikrishna Pearls building, which housed both residential apartments and commercial establishments. Firefighters responded promptly, deploying 11 fire tenders to the scene. Despite their efforts, the fire led to significant casualties. Reports indicate that at least 17 people have died, with several others injured.
Emergency services rescued multiple individuals from the building, many of whom were unconscious due to smoke inhalation. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, though initial reports suggest a possible short circuit.
