Hyderabad, May 29, 2025: The recent announcement of a theater shutdown in the Telugu film industry has stirred significant controversy. Various political parties have reacted in their own ways, with serious allegations emerging about the involvement of political leaders behind the shutdown. The name of a Janasena Party leader surfaced in connection with the controversy, prompting immediate action from party chief Pawan Kalyan.
As the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan has already responded clearly to the issue. In response to the circumstances surrounding the shutdown, he removed Atti Satyanarayana, the Janasena in-charge for Rajahmundry Urban, from his position and canceled his party membership. The Janasena Party issued an official statement regarding this action.
The statement clarified that until the allegations against Atti Satyanarayana are proven true or false, he must stay away from party activities. The decision was made on the grounds that his actions went beyond party boundaries and were contrary to Janasena’s principles.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, Pawan Kalyan, along with Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh, analyzed the developments behind the shutdown. The statement noted that the shutdown was initially announced in East Godavari district and later became a statewide topic of discussion. Allegations against individuals involved in the announcement were also discussed during this meeting.
Pawan Kalyan emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and stated that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty, regardless of their party affiliation. This is a significant development for Janasena, serving as a response to the growing perception that the government is against the film industry. As Pawan Kalyan stated, while fulfilling his responsibilities as a government official, he cannot overlook actions that violate party rules.
This move demonstrates Janasena’s internal discipline while also providing clarity to the public about the party’s values. Going forward, the government is likely to closely monitor every announcement and action in the film industry. It is evident that vigilance will continue against those using the film industry for political gain. It remains to be seen how Atti Satyanarayana, who has been removed from Janasena, will prove his innocence.
