Pedro Pascal has officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe with The Fantastic Four: First Steps and will essay the role of Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic. Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach also join him as Marvel revives the ‘Fantastic Four’ franchise. After creating massive hype, the trailer of The Fantastic Four: First Steps is finally out.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set in the 1960s and focuses on four astronauts, who gain superpowers after going to space. They are considered heroes by the masses but things take a turn when a cosmic being Galactus comes to Earth to destroy life.
Vanessa Kirby will be seen as Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm / Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm / The Thing. Meanwhile, Ralph Ineson and Julia Garner will star as Galactus and Silver Surfer respectively. Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles will also be seen in pivotal roles.
Earlier, The Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman revealed why Doctor Doom is not a part of the film. He told MovieWeb, “Doom’s a great character, but he takes up a lot of air. Other film adaptations have done both an origin story and Doom. We’re doing neither, and that allows us to look at them from a fresh perspective.”
Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal will star in Avengers: Doomsday in the lead role alongside Robert Downey Jr and will reprise his role of The Fantastic Four: The First Steps.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will hit the theatres on July 25, 2025. It is also the first film of Marvel’s Phase Six, which will further include Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
