With the aim of providing assurance to thalassemia patients, the NTR Trust is organizing a 3K, 5K, and 10K run on May 8 at RK Beach Road in Visakhapatnam, announced Nara Bhuvaneshwari, Managing Trustee of the NTR Trust. She, along with music director Thaman, inaugurated a 25-bed thalassemia center at the NTR Trust building in Hyderabad. Bhuvaneshwari expressed joy at fulfilling the promise to establish the thalassemia center. She urged everyone to participate in the run being held in Visakhapatnam to raise awareness about thalassemia. Music director Thaman stated that they would stand by thalassemia patients for life.
Speaking on the occasion, Nara Bhuvaneshwari said, “On May 8, on the occasion of World Thalassemia Day, the NTR Trust is organizing the Thalassemia Run 2025 with 3K, 5K, and 10K events in Vizag, starting from RK Beach, through the NTR Trust Memorial. This is not just a run; it’s a cause for which we all join hands to show thalassemia patients that we are with them. It is our collective responsibility to support the underprivileged who are awaiting help.”
Music director Thaman said, “When you see thalassemia patients, you realize how tough their process is. There’s a girl who has just applied for SSC, and a boy who is interested in studying math. These may seem like small things, but they are going through so much. If they don’t get a blood transfusion every 21 days, their lives are at risk. Many people don’t know how deep this issue is. But today, on our behalf, we are bringing this issue to the public in a profound way. I urge everyone to participate in the May 8 run. I will run, I will walk, and I will educate those around me about this. From now on, I will tell everyone I meet in my life to donate blood and help thalassemia patients. I will do this for the rest of my life. Thank you so much.”
