The Telangana Government is hosting the grand Telangana Gaddar Film Awards ceremony, which is being celebrated with much fanfare. The event is taking place at Hyderabad’s HITEX venue and has drawn top stars from the Telugu film industry. Veteran actresses like Jayaprada, Jayasudha, and Suhasini attended the awards function.
To begin with, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy presented awards to the winners in the categories of film technicians, journalists, and others. The Telangana Gaddar Film Awards recognize excellence in Telugu cinema from films released between 2014 and 2023, honoring winners in categories such as Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Producer.
A major highlight of the event was a live musical performance by renowned music director Thaman. He entertained the audience with a medley of his hit songs from various films, adding energy and excitement to the celebration. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy graced the event as the chief guest. The entire ceremony was well-organized under the supervision of FDC (Film Development Corporation) Chairman Dil Raju.
The Telangana Gaddar Film Awards brought the Telugu film industry together in a big way. For nearly 12 years, there had been no government-hosted film awards ceremony for Telugu cinema. However, in a move to encourage film artists, CM Revanth Reddy initiated the awards to honor the best movies, directors, actors, and actresses from each year since the formation of Telangana. Along with the T.G.F. (Telangana Gaddar Film) Awards, each winner also receives a cash prize of ₹5 lakhs.
