We reviewed the viral document circulating on social media. The alleged press release is numbered 427/2025 at the top left. However, the date is missing from the top right corner.
To verify the image of the injured Imran Khan circulating with the claim, we performed a reverse image search on Google. A similar image was found in an India Today report dated May 6, 2025. According to the report, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan fell from a lift carrying him to a 10–14-foot-high stage at a rally in Lahore ahead of the elections.

We conducted a keyword search to verify whether any credible media outlets had reported the alleged death. No major Pakistani news organizations or international agencies have confirmed the incident. Furthermore, no statement has been issued by Imran Khan’s legal team or political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
We also reviewed the official X handle of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Pakistan. A clarification post refuted the viral press release, stating: “Disseminating #FakeNews is not only unethical and illegal but it is also disservice to the nation. It is the responsibility of everyone to reject irresponsible behavior. Reject #FakeNews”
