Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced that women in the state can travel for free in RTC buses starting August 15, 2025. This initiative was a key promise made during the 2024 elections by the TDP, BJP, and Janasena alliance, and is now set to be implemented.
Additional Welfare Schemes
During his visit to Kurnool district, Naidu also outlined several new initiatives:
- Mother’s Day Scheme: Starting from the next school year, aimed at supporting families with more than one child.
- Crop Investment Support: Rs. 14,000 per year for farmers, including Rs. 6,000 from the central government and Rs. 8,000 from the state government.
- Rayalaseema Development: Plans to transform the region into a horticulture hub and introduce a new railway line to Orvakal.
Implementation and Future Plans
The free bus travel scheme is expected to benefit thousands of women, improving mobility and accessibility across the state. The state government is also focusing on agriculture, infrastructure, and social welfare to enhance economic growth and public services.
