Amaravati Development Plans Unveiled: Minister Narayana Criticizes Previous Regime
Amaravati: Minister Narayana sharply criticized the previous five-year rule of Jagan, labeling it as chaotic and neglectful of development. He announced that development works in Amaravati, costing ₹64,000 crore, have been restarted, with plans to complete the capital city’s construction within the next three years.
Speaking on the project, Minister Narayana said, “We have designed the capital city across 17 square kilometers. Farmers voluntarily provided 34,000 acres of land in just 58 days. As promised, we are developing infrastructure with an investment of ₹64,000 crore, significantly increasing the value of their land. However, for the land value to remain stable, there must be human activity in the region. Without people, the land’s value cannot be sustained.”
To transform Amaravati into a smart city, the minister emphasized the need to establish non-polluting industries such as IT and other smart industries. “For these industries to thrive, an international airport is essential. Without it, foreign investors will not come,” he clarified. Keeping the next 50 years in perspective, the government aims to ensure that the land value for farmers who contributed their land continues to grow. To this end, the Chief Minister has directed the construction of an international airport, a smart city, and a sports city.
However, acquiring land for these projects requires careful consideration. The government decided to seek public opinion on whether to pursue land pooling or land acquisition. In this regard, MLA Bhashyam Praveen conducted meetings in three villages, covering approximately 8,000 acres. During these village assemblies, residents unanimously supported land pooling and opposed land acquisition. “We will collect land through pooling after taking into account the opinions of the public and landowners,” Minister Narayana affirmed.
With these development initiatives, Amaravati is poised to become an economic hub for Andhra Pradesh, securing a prosperous future for farmers, the minister expressed optimistically.
