Despite owning a house in Mumbai, he stays there only during film shoots. He revealed that there is a special reason behind his decision to leave his Mumbai home and settle in a village.
In the village, Nana Patekar explained that he lives not only for the beauty of nature but also to be among the people and animals there. He shared that he owns ten cows, oxen, and six dogs, and his home is surrounded by lush greenery. The actor stated that he has no desire to buy a new house or expensive cars, but he found great joy recently when a tube well was dug in front of his home. He frequently interacts with the villagers, describing their behavior as innocent and childlike. Nana emphasized that expensive clothes or luxurious items do not bring him happiness; instead, he cherishes a simple life.
