Hyderabad Police Arrest Woman for Gold Theft – 55 Grams Recovered
Hyderabad: A 20-year-old woman, Hathagale Sanjana, was arrested on May 24 for stealing gold ornaments, with police recovering 55 grams of gold from her possession.
Incident Details
- The theft occurred on May 20, when Gadili Hyma and her family traveled to Hyderabad, reaching Gandhi Bhavan Metro Station before heading to Mehdipatnam bus stand at 8:30 pm.
- While boarding an RTC bus to Vikarabad, Hyma discovered her handbag had been opened, with multiple gold items missing:
✅ Gold chain (15 grams)
✅ Lakshmi locket (9 grams)
✅ Anjaneyaswamy locket (2 grams)
✅ Pair of earrings (5 grams)
✅ Gold biscuit (24 grams)
Police Investigation & Arrest
- Mehdipatnam police registered a case and began investigations.
- Sanjana was traced to Vijanagar Colony, where authorities recovered the stolen ornaments.
- She was arrested under Section 303 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sent to judicial remand.
