Kangana Ranaut Deletes Tweet Praising Donald Trump as ‘Alpha Male’ After Backlash
May 16, 2025 | Mumbai
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has, once again, found herself at the center of controversy. Calling US President Donald Trump as the “alpha male” and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “Alpha Male Ka Baap” (Bigger Alpha Male), she stirred the hornet’s nest and was met with backlash online. And what’s worse? She deleted the tweet and put out another tweet saying she deleted the previous tweet after BJP National President JP Nadda told her to do so!
In the now-deleted post, Ranaut commented on Trump’s growing popularity amid the 2024 U.S. presidential election rerun, writing, “Undoubtedly Trump is alpha male, but our PM is sab Alpha male ka baap”, calling PM Modi as the bigger alpha male compared to President Trump.
Social media users swiftly responded, with some praising her for expressing her views candidly, while others criticized her for glorifying a polarizing figure accused of undermining democratic institutions. Hashtags like #KanganaRanaut and #TrumpAlphaMale began trending shortly afterward.
Facing mounting criticism, the actress deleted the tweet within hours. She put out another tweet, saying JP Nadda had asked her to depete the tweet. “I regret posting that very personal opinion of mine, as per the instructions I deleted it from Instagram as well.” However, screenshots circulated widely, keeping the conversation alive.
This isn’t the first time the Queen actress has voiced admiration for controversial global figures. She has previously expressed support for Indian political leaders known for their strongman image and has often used social media to weigh in on domestic and international politics, frequently attracting both praise and ire.
Known for her unapologetic persona and nationalist views, Ranaut recently returned to Twitter after a suspension in 2021, and has since resumed her pattern of headline-grabbing commentary.
