
Mumbai Police Bust Prostitution Racket in Andheri, Arrest 28-Year-Old Man
Mumbai: The Amboli Police have busted a prostitution racket operating in Andheri West, leading to the arrest of 28-year-old Mohammed Gulab Fulbabu Shaikh, alias Sarfaraz, a resident of Versova and native of Bihar.
How the Operation Unfolded
- Police received a tip-off about the racket and set up a decoy operation.
- Sarfaraz had been running the racket for over a year, targeting young women and aspiring models.
- On May 16, a decoy customer contacted Sarfaraz, who shared multiple photos of women and quoted a rate of ₹5000.
- Sarfaraz met the decoy in Andheri West, accepted the payment, and escorted him to a lodge, where a 30-year-old woman was found.
- Police raided the lodge, arrested Sarfaraz, and rescued the victim.
Legal Action and Investigation
- Sarfaraz has been booked under Section 143 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).
- Further investigation is underway to identify other individuals involved in the racket.
